Books I cannot wait for!

Bloom by Elizabeth Scott

Lauren has a good life: decent grades, great friends, and a boyfriend every girl lusts after. So why is she so unhappy?
It takes the arrival of Evan Kirkland for Lauren to figure out the answer: She's been holding back. She's been denying herself a bunch of things (like sex) because staying with her loyal and gorgeous boyfriend, Dave, is the "right" thing to do. After all, who would give up the perfect boyfriend?
But as Dave starts talking more and more about their life together, planning a future Lauren simply can't see herself in -- and as Lauren's craving for Evan, and moreover, who she is with Evan becomes all the more fierce -- Lauren realizes she needs to make a choice...before one is made for her.

I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down for the life of me. The story just pulled you in and would NOT let go. I began to feel for these characters like I have never felt for any other character before. I wanted so badly for them to triumph, it's not even funny.

Lauren is just like any girl. Doesn't want to say no to people, or be mean. She stays with her boyfriend because that's what people expect of her. Even if it makes her unhappy. When she re-meets Evan... it all just explodes. Her little world is shaken so much and you shake up with her. Their love story is just amazing. One of the best I've read. So so so good.

Evermore by Alyson Noel

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…
Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

Ever can see auras. She can also hear peoples thoughts. She feels like she can't escape...until Damien walks in. Finally, the voices clear and sweet silence filters through. Everything seems perfect...but nothing(and no one) is perfect.

I really enjoyed this book. There were some spots where I rolled my eyes and thought, "Oh, Jeez". But for the most part this book was everything I thought it would be. Sweet and magical. The paranormal wasn't too far fetched. The characters well drawn. Damen was a great alternative to Twilight's Edward. Although Ever was a bit of a self loather, you really can't blame her. If you saw auras and heard peoples thoughts, you wouldn't be jumping for joy either.

All in all, a great start to a (fingers crossed) great series. I can't wait to see what happen in the next book coming out in June 09. Definitely a lot of great things coming our way from Alyson Noel.
